Welcome to Little Moon, an emerging preschool community for children ages 3–6 and their families in South Berkshire County, Massachusetts.
We are creating a small nature inspired Montessori school where individual creativity, nurturing relationships, and community, form the heart of school life - an environment where children are respected, they feel safe, and able to thrive.
As we lay the foundation, we welcome families, mentors, community partners, and supporters who feel called to help nurture this vision into being.
New to Montessori?

At Little Moon, by honoring each child as a whole being - mind, body, and spirit, we foster a sense of safety and belonging that supports the natural growth and unfolding of the child, their self-esteem, curiosity, and wonder.
Our prepared classroom is intentionally designed to be a joyful, peaceful, and purposeful place. Children experience joy through free choice and the mastery of personal skills at their own pace. They are peaceful as Grace and Courtesy is taught in the classroom which creates a peaceful, respectful, and harmonious environment. Lastly, the classrooms are purposeful environments that invite children into meaningful, satisfying creative work - projects and tasks they choose that aid in developing coordination, independence, and focus.
Our mission is to bring together Montessori education, outdoor exploration, and experiential learning to support the whole child. This full, integrated approach is grounded in educational research and supports cognitive development, social-emotional well-being, and a lifelong love of learning.
On Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
At Little Moon, we honor and celebrate human diversity in all its forms, including culture, identity, family structure, language, and ability. We are committed to creating a learning environment where every child and family feels a sense of belonging, respect, and care.
We strive to ensure equitable access to meaningful learning experiences and to continually reflect on and improve our practices so that inclusion is lived every day in our community.
