Who We Are
Little Moon Montessori School is a small, nurturing preschool serving children ages 2.9–6 in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Our holistic educational program integrates authentic Montessori practice with daily forest education. We combine the best of Montessori with the wisdom and wonder of the natural world.
What We Do
We nurture creativity, independence, and responsibility by helping children build life skills, both indoors and out. In the classroom they choose activities that peek their curiosity; outside they explore, observe, build, and problem-solve together. When children participate in meaningful daily life, when they feel they are a valuable part of their community, they naturally grow into capable, confident, and kind human beings.
How We Do It

Prepared Montessori Environment: Materials arranged from simple to complex invite children to choose purposeful work that aligns with their interests and developmental needs..

Child-Led Learning: Teachers observe closely and offer lessons when a child is ready - never rushed, always respected.

Forest Classroom: Meadows, woods, water, and weather deepen learning. Children explore, investigate, build resilience, and develop a meaningful relationship with the natural world.
